Cusumano Winery: A Beautiful Sicilian Find (And No, It’s Not an Ad)

Cusumano Winery: A Beautiful Sicilian Find (And No, It’s Not an Ad)

We were looking for a winery somewhere close to Terrasini, nothing too far, nothing too complicated. The plan was simple: my friends were coming over and, honestly, visiting a Sicilian winery is basically mandatory at this point.

And, as usual, I started looking way too late.
Like “why am I doing this to myself again?” late.

But somehow, the Sicilian gods blessed me, because I stumbled upon Cusumano Winery. Their website immediately stood out - modern, interesting, stylish. So I wrote them an email, doing my best to sound like a respectable Italian-speaking adult.

They replied the same day.
In English.
So my Italian is clearly not as convincing as I hoped, but at least things started moving fast.

A couple of emails later, everything was arranged easily and without stress.

What We Expected vs. What We Got

We were prepared for the usual big-group winery tour:
a guide, thirty people walking in a line, quick tasting, thank you, goodbye.

Instead, we got the complete opposite, in the best possible way.

We had a fully private tour, just for us. A lovely Cusumano staff member took us through the entire facility, explained everything with so much patience, and let us take our time (even while we were trying not to film our YouTube-shy friends).

We stayed almost two hours.
The whole place is beautiful - modern architecture, clean lines, eco-friendly. And the glass corks were such a fun surprise. Of course we kept a few as souvenirs (from bottles we bought and “researched” later).

We also got to see the historical tower/house, which had this quiet charm that felt very Sicilian. Even the winery cat came to say hello, extremely friendly and clearly proud of the estate.

We left inspired… and with hands full of wine. Naturally.

Our Favourites

Lukas always goes for Nero d’Avola. If it’s on the list, that’s his choice, end of discussion.

I’m a little more flexible. Some days I prefer Syrah, other days Nero d’Avola. It depends on the moment, the food… or honestly just whatever mood I’m in.

And then there are the Etna wines.
There’s something special about drinking wine made on the slopes of a volcano, even before tasting it, you already expect it to be interesting. And it always lives up to that feeling.

We tried a few bottles during the visit and later at home, and each one had its own personality. Not better or worse, just different. And yes, there were definitely… more than a few bottles. But we call it research, so it’s fine.

If You Want to Visit

If you want to organise a visit yourself, you can contact Cusumano directly.
They have wineries in Partinico (the one we visited) and also on Etna, if you want the full volcanic experience.

And just to make it clear:
this is 100% not an ad.
We paid for everything, nobody asked us to write or film anything, and we’re simply very happy about this little discovery near Terrasini.

It’s one of those places that makes Sicily feel even more special.

Want to See the Winery in Motion?

We filmed a little bit during our visit, nothing too intrusive, just enough to show the atmosphere and how beautiful the place feels in real life. If you want to get a better sense of the space, you can watch the video here:
